2008-09 Funding Process Now Underway: The Haywood County Tourism Development Authority has made new 3-percent funding guidelines, along with funding request forms, for events/festivals and special promotions available to the public. Any money received under the 3-percent guidelines must be spent between July 1, 2008, and June 30, 2009. The guidelines/requests are available at the the HCTDA office in Waynesville. The forms can also be downloaded below. The deadline for filing a funding application is 5 p.m. on April 30. The 1-percent funding guidelines/request forms for occupancy tax money collected during the 2008-09 fiscal year are also available at the HCTDA office and on its Web site (see below). Any money received under the 1-percent guidelines must be spent between July 1, 2008, and June 30, 2009. The applications for funding must be submitted to the appropriate subcommittee, based on the five zip code collection areas, as indicated in the guidelines.
